Tabletop Tracker (“the app”) is designed to be private by default. Your collection lives on your device, and we do not run servers that collect or store your data.
What data the app stores
Everything you enter — your games, photos, ratings, notes, house rules, plays, players, scores, loans, wishlist, tags and expansions — is stored only on your device, in the app’s local database and file storage. We have no account system and no copy of your data.
When data leaves your device
Data only leaves your device when you choose an action that sends it:
- BoardGameGeek lookup. If you tap to look up a game, the app sends just the game title (or barcode you typed) to BoardGameGeek’s public API to fetch details such as players, play time and the BGG rating. No personal information is sent. See BoardGameGeek’s own privacy policy for how they handle requests.
- Backup / CSV export. If you export a backup or CSV, the app creates a file and hands it to your device’s share sheet. Where that file goes (email, cloud drive, etc.) is entirely your choice; the app does not upload it anywhere.
- Online Library (optional). If you choose to create an online library, the app uploads a list of your games to a cloud database (Google Firebase) so friends with your share code can view it. Only the game name, your rating, player count, play time, and a game’s public BoardGameGeek cover image link (when it has one) are shared — never your own photos and no personal information — along with a library name you choose. Access is by share code only; libraries are not publicly searchable. You can delete your online library at any time from the Library tab, which removes it from the cloud. The feature is entirely opt-in; if you never create a library, nothing is uploaded.
The app does not use analytics, advertising, tracking, or third-party SDKs that collect personal data, and it does not sell or share your data.
Permissions
- Camera — used only if you choose to take a photo of a game.
- Photo library — used only if you choose to add a photo from your library.
Photos you add are copied into the app’s private storage on your device.
Children’s privacy
The app does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. It stores only the game data you choose to enter.
Deleting your data
You can delete any game (and its photo) inside the app, or remove all data by uninstalling the app from your device.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new “last updated” date.
